When I moved to Central Otago in 2022, I had no real desire to play cricket again, but after meeting some of the guys playing Veterans Cricket they persuaded me to give it a go and I am so glad I did.
Over the last two years I have met some great people (both the guys and their wives) who are all at a similar stage of life to me. I have also enjoyed some relaxed yet competitive cricket on some really beautiful grounds. Every year I get to look forward to the national tournament in February and then if I do well enough, it is off to Australia to represent New Zealand at the Australian State Championships in November. I would thoroughly recommend giving Veterans Cricket a go to anyone who loves the game and enjoys travelling.
